October 7, 2011 High school students help with water monitoring and river cleanup
35 Center High School Students, Blue River Watershed Association volunteers and EPA scientists monitored water quality and picked up trash at Indian Creek in Kansas City, Missouri.
October is Children's Health Month, a time when EPA works to bring even more awareness to environmental and health issues that can impact children.
Here, Region 7 staff were bringing these students to the rivers edge, connecting them to the importance of watersheds which, when protected, provide clean, safe water where Americans live, work and play.
